Professor Jenny Shaw

 

Professor Jenny Shaw has over 30 years’ experience in the NHS, predominantly in Mental Health, currently as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist. She has extensive experience of NHS Management, service reviews and service development.

Jenny is Professor of Forensic Psychiatry at The University of Manchester, with 20 years’ experience of research and teaching. She leads an Internationally renowned patient safety research unit, The Centre for Mental Health and Risk, with extensive publications in the field. In 2016, she was awarded the Academic Women in Psychiatry Award.

Dr Tony Ryan

 

Dr Tony Ryan has worked in mental health services since 1982, including 10 years’ clinical experience working in the NHS as a nurse and eight years in the voluntary sector with the national charity Turning Point. From 2000 to 2004 Tony worked in service development and redesign at King’s College London and Manchester University. He has published extensively on mental health policy, research methods and service and practice development.

Tony has been the Director of Tony Ryan Associates since 2004, which has worked with over 90 organisations, including commissioners, providers, regulators, statutory agencies and user and carer organisations.

Nick Taylor

 

Nick Taylor has worked in safety and risk management for over 30 years.  He has principally worked in the nuclear industry, with experience across a wide range of nuclear sites. For the last 10 years he has been the managing director of a large risk management consultancy and is currently an independent member of the nuclear safety committee for one of the UK’s more complex operational sites.
